My Workflow

I have decided that I am going to make this post completely public so that you can have a full taste of what is hidden behind paywalls in this blog - enjoy!

Hey Nerds 👋

So there are many things that people do not really understand about my workflow and I aim to address some of those misconceptions here today in a way that will level the playing field when it comes to the way that I work and how that is matched up against people who are often unable to work as efficiently as me or keep up with the ways that my ideas flow and meld together. This is not meant to be rude if that is the way that you have taken it, what is actually is, is the honest truth. I have a team of people who help me when it comes to putting together production versions of the ideas that I have and I often work so quickly that I find that I have left them behind usually without realizing that I have done that.

I wanted to take this post and hopefully explain to people the ways that I manage the things that I do and keep them organized in a way that allows me to be productive above all else.

NotebootLM

The Language Model Built to Help you

Visit NotebookLM

One of the major tools that I use when I have things that I want to dig thru in a way that allows me to save all of the thoughts that I have for future use is NotebookLM. This is a tool that makes it easy to take large documents such as blogs, forum posts, PDFs, Videos, and even regular audio - and turn it into a Language Model that is perfectly turned to the exact type of research that you are doing. I personally use it when the documents that I am looking into are written and produced by me. My Obsidian Notes, my audio recordings of thoughts I have when I am out walking. AI meeting notes I take when I am working with people - it all turns into a model that I can chat with that is perfectly tuned to what I would like it to know without the extra that often causes issues in larger general purpose LLMs.

The thing that you have to note about this is I have a premium Google One Subscription with My Pixel 9a phone, and that allows me higher levels of Access to NotebookLM that you do not really get to see when you are using the free version of the application.

Grok

The Unfiltered AI Assistant

Visit Grok

The thing that I find most enjoyable about Grok is the fact that it has so many cool features, and it is completely unfiltered. What I often find issues with is that when I am looking to research certain topics using Gemini Deep Research mode, which I get into later in this post, I am limited by the way that the models take words that I use to attempt to get them to search the web for my ideas and they say that they are not able to do that. So what I have done is taken grok and taught it about this issue, and I can often get it to output words that other models will not take offense to and will do what I am asking them to do without a big fight about the morals of what I am aiming to do.

There are of course other really cool features when it comes to grok, like the ability to summarize the news of your twitter feed rather than having to scroll thru it and remain trapped there for way longer than you intended too and wasting your time and energy. Overall I encourage you to give it a try because it is really cool to use.

Gemini Deep Research Mode

Basically Cheap Web Scraping

Visit Gemini

There are many things that I do with Gemini, and this is easily one of the most powerful ones that I do. And that is using Gemini Deep Research Mode. I have used it for things ranging from deep comparison of products to ensure that the info that is presenting itself on one site is on other sites too. When you combine Deep Research mode with other tools you find that you feel almost superhuman in the research that you are able to do in a short period of time.

If you are looking for another Google Discord Link here it is 😄

Ground News

When you want to know that the news you are getting is right

Visit Ground News

You know what Ground News has taught me? it has taught me that when someone reports on something, it is for a list of reason where even though I knew most of them, I failed to understand them in the way that I do now. It has shown me errors in my thinking, and taught me to read news in a way that looks for the why or each article, which then leads me to the root of the issues that I am seeing news on.

One might say that this has likely changed the way that I see things, that I am no longer the radical centerist that I was and that I am known for. This is not true, if anything I have gone a bit more Liberatarian then I previously was, but I have not changed in the way that the major news outlets want me too, and for that I have added it to this list. I hope that you not only enjoy, but that you learn somthing from this platform

Notion Suite

The Products that bring it all together

Get you some Notion

The thing about the Notion Suite is that it uses the IKEA effect to bring its part of the internet back to the way that it was years ago. I am a major supporter of Open Source Software, and this is one of the few products that is not OSS that I love as much as other OSS Products.

I use Notion to store the outputs of all my other tooling, and I use NotionAI to allow me to manage it in a way that I did not have access to before. I can summon notes, and summarize conversation spanning multiple platforms with a question rather than 2 days of research.

To Tie This All Up

What do you think you should take away from this?
